1. Individual Section IS Machine Cleaning

For any glass container manufacturing plant, your IS machines are essential to continuous production. We understand the importance of keeping these machines running and fully operational.

It is therefore extremely important that you do not allow the build up of oil, grime and cullet to reduce the efficiency of the machine or contaminate your glass containers.

Our IS Machine cleaning services use high-powered pressure washers and a bespoke manual cleaning method to fully clean all parts of the machine while protecting sensitive electrical areas and control boxes.

Our cleans can be booked during regular mould line changes or either during planned shutdown maintenance, for example over the Christmas shutdown period. While a shorter clean will obviously mean less delays to restarting production, we recommend scheduling a deeper clean to ensure a high quality result.

2. Forehearth and Furnace Area Cleaning

It is no surprise that most first-time visits to our client’s forehearths are found to be covered in oil, grease and dust. Often the forehearth areas do not receive any regular cleaning or have not been cleaned in some time, causing a significant build up of oil, grease, cullet and dust on the floors, gratings, girders, railings and roofing.

We were first approached by our long-standing clients to clean a forehearth area after a fire had broken out across the furnace areas. We removed tons of ash, dust and oil through a bespoke cleaning method and highly-specific and rigorous Risk Assessments and Method Statements, to keep our operatives safe while working in this extreme environment.

Forehearth cleaning services are highly beneficial in clearing furnace areas after a fire, however it is also highly beneficial for fire prevention, as any oil and dust which would normally start and spread fires is no longer present. We are proud that, because of our services, a moderate fire in one of our client’s IS machines did not spread up onto the forehearth as it had recently been cleaned by the Kingfisher team.

3. Cold End Production Cleaning

Regular cleaning of cold end production machinery ensures the longevity and efficiency of your equipment. We have supplied regular cleaning of our client’s cold end production machinery for around 10 years, with the machinery still looking like new. Regular cleaning therefore results in a more aesthetic, impressive site to show to your site visitors, whereas a dirty, grimy factory is likely to tarnish reputation.

Cold End Production cleaning covers everything from cleaning machinery to industrial floor scrubbing and manually mopping floors underneath production lines. It can be a one-off clean or involve regular, scheduled cleans to constantly upkeep the cleanliness of your factory.

4. Hot End Production Cleaning

Glass manufacturer Hot End Cleaning involves cleaning all areas and equipment at the ground level of the Hot End. This includes walls, pipes, control boxes, fire extinguishers, bins, rag dispensers and the floor.

A manufacturing production area can accumulate oil and grease quickly, which is both hazardous to safety and very unsightly for employees or visitors. This routine cleaning uses specialist chemicals to remove grease, dust and contaminants while posing no threat to equipment or product contamination.

Kingfisher have a proven track record in the field of Electrostatic Precipitator Cleaning and Luhr Filter Cleaning. With numerous contracts around the UK, we are an industry leader in this arena. We have provided efficient service for over 15 years with our experienced team, working with our clients and collaborating with Interprojekt in Germany.

Electrostatic Precipitator Cleaning and Luhr Filter Cleaning is vital for their efficiency and maintenance. However, this is not an easy task and it is a highly specialised service.

6. Lehr Cleaning

Kingfisher have developed a specialised working method for cleaning the internal structure of lehrs. This cleaning work takes place while the lehrs are out of commission, meaning the internal temperatures are cool enough for our operatives to safely operate. 

We work with our clients to schedule lehrs cleans for when your facility plans any organised maintenance or shut-down periods. This allows us to carry out work without unnecessarily extending the down time of your production lines.

7. On-Site Maintenance and Gardening

If your site produces glass containers, chances are you are making them for the food and beverage industry and thus are subject to BRC audits. In order to uphold satisfactory levels of hygiene and pass these audits, it is imperative that all outdoor areas of site and any green areas are maintained to a high standard.
